We had the privilege of sitting in on one of Natalie’s creative shoots where she used a disco ball to bounce light and create some unique frames. Check it out!

Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Natalie and I make photographs!

How long have you been making photographs?
I started my journey with photography in 2008 when I got my first DSLR camera, even before then I was always the one in the family taking pictures of everyone and everything. My mom was the same I always remember her having her huge Visio camera everywhere we went and I love that because now during the holidays we watch all those home videos!!

What do you enjoy most about making photographs?
My love for this art is how it connects me to so many people, most people I photograph I have photographed them for engagements now I’m photographing those same people plus 3 kids it’s really beautiful to watch that love grow and to capture it. Seniors are my absolute favorite though, they are so fearless and will do all the weird different poses I dream of shooting.

What drew you to Revelator Studio?
I actually work in the same building as Revelator and upon seeing images of it I knew I wanted to shoot there because of the light, it’s neutral color pallet and all the plants 🌱 🙌🏻 Also I met Justin and I thought he was a cool guy that would be fun work and connect with!!! I was right :))

What was your favorite thing or things about using the space?
My experience was 10/10 loved the studio the light is perfect mid day and if you want to get creative and play with direct light you can get that in the evening as well!!!

What is your hope for the creative community of Shreveport/Bossier?
I have been in this business a long time and my hopes for the creative community is exactly what it is now creatives working together and supporting one another!!! I love it. 10 years ago it wasn’t like this, it was so competitive. I’m happy to see everyone supporting and showing love to this art and it’s people 🤍 more of that!!!! @soul_rebels_photo
