Megg Laboy Member Highlight

We love to highlight creatives in our community, and we recently got to chat with Megg Laboy about her journey with photography during her time here in the studio.

Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Meagan, but feel free to call me Megg! I take photos here and there. 

How long have you been making photographs?
My boyfriend actually bought me my first DSLR 3 years ago, and ever since then my love for photography skyrocketed. 

What do you enjoy most about making photographs?
One of the things that I love most about photography is how I’m able to visit the past while still being present. I love the fact that I am able to experience that particular moment again without physically being there. To me, thats a moment you can’t beat. 

What drew you to Revelator Studio?
What drew me in about this place, is that there is nothing like it here in Shreveport. 

What was your favorite thing or things about using the space?
My favorite thing about using this space is just being there. It feels good being in a space where you are able to have freedom creatively. 

What is your favorite kind of cereal?
My favorite cereal has to Honey comb!!

What is your hope for the creative community of Shreveport/Bossier?
My hope for the creative community of shreveport/bossier is that there is still beauty here!

Anything else you’d like to say about the studio?
Expect to have creative freedom and support at this studio! I absolutely love this studio, and creatively I’m grateful for Justin and his family to start something new in the city!
